Adopting scenarios

The last step in the planning process is to ‘adopt’ a chosen scenario.
When this option is selected, CSP first checks that the associated initiatives have all been approved. Driver data from these is then summarised again and accumulated with the baseline version. This set of data is written into a pre-determined version of data – e.g. Budget. Initiatives are then ‘locked’ and can’t be changed – they are there as a log of how that revised baseline was created. As the year progresses, new initiatives can be set up to assess how they now impact this revised baseline – and so the planning process continues.

Benefits of Using CSP

CSP transforms an organisation’s existing, financially focused, planning process into one that enables management to clearly plan and evaluate the impact of different combinations of projects on operational results.

Unlike existing solutions that do not allow management to easily see how the timing of Capex plans impacts overall results, CSP provides these powerful capabilities on top of existing systems thereby greatly increasing their value to the planning process.
